Emergency Plan

Managers are responsible for posting emergency plans.

Plans will be posted in locations easily visible to persons in the space.

The plan provides a quick reference in the event of an emergency such as an injury or incident and contains the following information:

• Emergency contact information for Police, Fire and Rescue which is 911.
• The street address of the space so that emergency responders can respond quickly and directly, when summoned.

In an emergency or life-threatening situation call 911!

For non-emergency medical assistance such as minor first aid, contact the appropriate UVA occupational health provider as follows:

• UVA Academic division employees this includes: Faculty, staff, or students paid through University payroll (i.e. Workday)

• Normal hours of operation: Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm
• After hours: Students can speak to a care provider regarding an urgent question or concern at 434-297-4261.

For non-emergency medical assistance after regular business hours

The student or an employee should visit an emergency facility such as the UVA Hospital Emergency Room or Martha Jefferson Hospital Emergency Room. Local urgent care walk in facilities are available and may be considered if the injury is not immediately life-threatening.
